Job Title – Engineer Supervisor

Pickerings Lifts is a national, well established, privately owned, independent, leading lift specialist with 170 years’ experience. Due to continued success and growth, we require an Engineer Supervisor from the lift industry, to cover the Scotland region.

The successful candidates will have experience working with all types of lifts and controller manufactures, as well as the ability to think critically and creatively. A qualification to NVQ 3 or equivalent is required.

Main Duties:

  • Supervising a team of engineers in the maintenance, reactive callouts and repair of lifts
  • Carry out lift audits/surveys on customer sites
  • Carry out QHSE audits on engineers
  • Complete Toolbox talks as required
  • Attend QHSE meetings as the regional representative
  • Complete repairs and corrective maintenance on customer lifts as well as attending callouts and routine maintenance on customer sites / lifts as required
  • Completion of job sheets electronic and manual. Completing customer paperwork where necessary (electronic and manual) as well as logging onto / off customer systems as required
  • Participating in an out of hours call out on a rota’d basis (Subject to mutual agreement)
  • To work closely with the Technical Support Engineer and to provide support where required

Person specification:

  • Have supervisory experience and be able to mentor and support less technically skilled engineers
  • Be able to lead and work as part of a regional lift engineer team
  • Be able to complete minor repairs on a wide range and variety of lifts to a high standard
  • Be able to diagnose complex faults accurately
  • Be self-motivated, have great customer service skills
  • Work under minimum supervision
  • Must hold a valid driving licence
  • Be computer literate – as you will be required to use customer log on systems, company tablets and PLASMa
  • Qualified to or above NVQ3 (or equivalent) in a lift engineering discipline
  • Good Communication skills
  • Must have a “can do” approach to work and work for the good of the business
  • Must be willing to undertake further management & technical training as required
