We are currently the main supplier of lift and escalator maintenance to a national retail outlet, looking after over 500 lifts and escalators across the country.
We maintain close contact with stores in order to stay aware of their changing requirements and tailor our service to their needs.
Service visits are organised outside of trading hours (for example, before 10am) or during periods which typically experience low pedestrian traffic. Similarly we do not organise maintenance at peak times (for example, Christmas or promotional sales periods) to avoid disruption to the business.
Should the need arise for a replacement component which must be ordered, our staff liaise with the site in question and have the components delivered directly to the site in order to reduce the time taken to put a unit back into operation.
On one occasion we were informed by the retailer that one of their flagship stores would be receiving an important visit from the company CEO. It was then ensured that our nearest engineer would be on standby during the duration of the visit to respond rapidly in the unlikely event that any issue should arise.
The invoicing and reporting schedule is tailored to the retailer’s requirements. Invoices are supplied on the last day of each month to coincide with their budgeting schedule, and daily ‘lift off’ reports are presented by our national contracts team with information on which units are currently not in use so that staff can reschedule deliveries which may be reliant on goods lifts.
In 2018 the retailer approached us with a request to remove an escalator from one of their London stores to make way for the installation of a new unit. The removal was completed in full within four days and the unit was transported to our Head Office in Stockton-on-Tees, where it was carefully dismantled for spare parts by our skilled escalator engineers.
These spare parts have since been used to upgrade existing escalator units for other stores. This has saved the retailer both time and money while also maintaining a high level of sustainability through effective allocation of resources, demonstrating the added value that we offer to all our clients.
